This page explains what Phone Flip Club ("we") collects when you use phoneflipclub.co.uk, why, and what you can do about it. Questions or requests: hello@phoneflipclub.co.uk.
The data controller is Deanleigh Holdings Ltd (company number 14533654, registered in England and Wales), First Floor Unit 12, Compass Point, Ensign Way, Hamble, Southampton, Hampshire, SO31 4RA, which runs Phone Flip Club.
What we collect
- Your email address when you create a free account or join, with the date and the page you signed up from.
- Membership and payment details when you subscribe. Stripe takes your card details; we never see or store them. We receive your name, email, Stripe customer and subscription IDs, and whether your membership is active.
- Sign-in cookies that keep you logged in (see Cookies below).
- Usage and advertising data, only if you accept cookies: pages visited, device and browser, and whether you signed up or joined after seeing one of our ads.
- Emails you send us, if you write to us.
- Referrals: your referral code (made from your email address), which link a member joined through, and the credit you've earned. If you refer friends before you're a member, we set up a Stripe customer record for your email so the credit has somewhere to wait.
- Unsubscribe records: if you unsubscribe from our emails we keep a one-way hash of your address and the date, so we never email it again.
Why we use it
- To run your account and membership, send sign-in links, and email you about your account (contract).
- To send you a welcome email after you sign up, a daily email with that day's picks (only on days there are picks) and a weekly round-up on Sundays, as described on the sign-up form (consent for free accounts; for members, the similar-service rule). Every one of these emails has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also reply "stop". Unsubscribing doesn't close your account.
- To measure how people find us and which ads work, only with your consent (consent).
- To keep records the law requires, such as payment records (legal obligation).
We don't sell your data.
Who processes it for us
- Stripe: payments and subscriptions.
- Vercel: website hosting and storage of sign-ups.
- Resend: sending our emails.
- Cloudflare: domain and forwarding of email sent to us.
- Google (Analytics) and Meta (Facebook/Instagram advertising): only if you accept cookies.
Some of these companies process data outside the UK, under the safeguards UK law requires (such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or adequacy regulations).
Cookies
- pfc_free, pfc_member (essential): keep you signed in to your free account or membership. Up to 12 months.
- pfc_consent (essential): remembers your cookie choice. 12 months.
- Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*): counts visits and how people use the site. Only with your consent. Up to 2 years.
- Meta pixel (_fbp, _fbc): tells Meta when someone signs up or joins after an ad, so we can measure ads. Only with your consent. Up to 90 days. If you accept, we also send these sign-up and purchase events to Meta from our server, with your email address hashed.
You can change your choice any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the home page.
How long we keep it
Account and membership data for as long as you have an account, then deleted unless the law needs us to keep it (payment records are kept for six years for tax purposes). You can ask us to delete your free account at any time.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent. Email hello@phoneflipclub.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
